 今日勉強した英語の中で間違えたことや調べたことをメモしておく。

コロケーション

 今回は古沢寛行・小宮山浩光・レコード,カービィ(2004)「コロケーション徹底演習II」(泰文堂)PP. 151-3を参照。


 今回、間違えたのは以下の表現:

  926. I don’t feel much like going to that party tonight. Moreover, I have a bad cold, so I shouldn't go.
    今夜のあのパーティにはあまり出たくない。おまけに酷い風邪を引いているので行かない方が良い。
  928. Poor George had hardly recovered from his heart attack when he was stricken with the flu.
    可哀想に、ジョージは心臓発作から回復したかと思ったら、流感で倒れた。
  937. Her teacher is anxious for the girl to make up for the classes she missed during her illness.
    彼女の先生は、彼女が病気の間に出られなかった授業を埋め合わせるように願っている。
  939. It was shocking to the audience to see so much violence and sex on the screen.
    映画の画面でそのように多くの暴力と性の描写場面を見せられ観衆はショックを受けた。
  940. "It's very rude of you to say such a thing", she said angrily.
    「そんなことを言うなんてあなたは失礼ね」と彼女は腹立たしげに言った。
  944. The damage caused by the earthquake to the area is so great that the government has declared a state of emergency.
    地震によるその地域の損害は甚大なので、政府は非常事態を宣言した。
  946. With the meeting set for the following day, they had little time to prepare for it.
    会議を翌日に設定し、彼らにはそれの準備時間が殆ど無かった。
  949. The police arrested the cashier, who admitted taking the money from the cash register.
